The names that pop in our heads when we think about the richest people in the United States are most probably Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Bill Gates and Kardashian-Jenners but there are several incredibly wealthy families living in America. The 50 richest families of the country collectively have wealth worth nearly $1.2 trillion.
According to the infographic attached below, currently, the wealthiest family in America is the Waltons family who is the founder of the superstore chain, Walmart. The net worth of Waltons is nearly $247 billion which not only makes them the richest in the United States but, the wealthiest family all around the globe. in 2020, the Waltons’ family fortune grew incredibly by $25 billion which is equivalent to $3 million each hour.
The second richest family is the Koch’s family, owner of Koch industries with a total net worth of $100 billion. Followed by the Mars family on the third, the founder of America’s multinational confectionery manufacturer that holds the wealth of approximately $94 billion.
Ironically, one of the richest families in the 19th century i.e., Vanderbilt’s family have lost their place from the rankings. Other wealthy families such as Astor and Ford have also been ousted from the rankings entirely.
