Netflix had a record-breaking year in 2020 where around 36 million new subscribers were added to the Netflix family. Unfortunately, in 2021, the company is having a hard time with the growth of subscribers as Netflix only added 4 million new subscribers in the first three months (Q1) of 2021, according to the latest earnings release by Netflix.
The incredible rise in the new subscriber last year on Netflix is justified by the strict Covid-19 restrictions that forced the entire world to stay in their homes. Therefore, in order to survive the pandemic, people who never used Netflix signed up on the platform as well. The company has ended the first quarter of 2021 with a revenue of $7.16 billion whereas, the net income has been calculated to be $1.71 billion.
