Fitbit just announced the launch of its latest fitness and
wellness wristband, the Fitbit Luxe. The wristband costs $150 and comes with a
small color display which is the same size as the Fitbit band.
The color display of the Fitbit Luxe is available in three
different colors: white, black, and pink, while the watch body is available in
gold, black, and silver. The wristband is Fitbit’s thinnest touchscreen tracker
to date. According to Fitbit, it shall be comfortable for people to wear the
band while sleeping.
The functions of the Fitbit Luxe are the same as those of other Fitbit wearables, such as activity tracking and monitoring of steps taken, distance traveled, and calories burned. It can also receive call and text notifications.
The device can measure real-time pace and distance for runs
and jogs when connected to GPS of the phone. It is water-proof and can last for
five days without needing to be charged.
The Fitbit Luxe appears to have a trendier look as compared
to previous Fitbit devices and that is exactly what the company has aimed for,
as the message over the marketing materials of the wristband says "Fitness
& wellness goes fashion-forward.” Moreover, there is a range of accessories
available for the Fitbit Luxe, including a variety of link and mesh bracelet
options, double wrap and woven bands.
The wristband comes with Fitbit's Premium service of 6
months, which is included in its $150 price. The Premium service usually costs
$9.99 per month. The service provides features like advanced tracking insights,
sleep tools, workout options, and mindfulness sessions with Deepak Chopra.
The Fitbit Luxe is set to ship out late in May and can be
preordered.
