Sony’s PlayStation Store will remain shut on the 2nd of July for the PlayStation 3 and on the 27th of august for Vita, meaning that people won’t be able to get digital copies of the games or DLC for the PS3 and Vita devices. Moreover, the company is ending the remaining purchase functionality for its PlayStation Portable (PSP) on July 2nd.
The good news is that people will still be able to download and
play their previously purchased games, videos, and media content. Anyone who
owns a PS3, PSP, or Vita and wishes to continue accessing their games, doesn’t have
to worry about being prevented from downloading games to their devices following
store closure.
However, people will be deprived of being able to purchase
PS3, PS Vita, or PSP digital games and videos. Cross-buy content can, nevertheless,
be purchased, hence making it possible to access the PS3 and PS Vita / PSP
versions of games that offer support for cross-buy content.
