Instagram plans to roll out a new feature for Stories, which
will let users save their stories as drafts to post later. The drafts option is
already available for Reels and Posts, and is soon going to be out for stories
as well.
While Instagram hasn’t revealed when exactly the feature will roll out, we know for now that the feature is in its testing phase, thanks to Alessandro Paluzzi who spotted it and showed everyone what the option will look like.
The draft option will most likely appear next to the story
that you will be preparing to upload later. There will be three options
displayed in total: save, discard, and cancel. The section where all the videos
and photos from your phone appear will show the stories drafts that you will
save.
It’s not like users couldn’t save their stories to post
later previously, though. Instagram provides the option to save your stories on
your phone, so you can upload them later whenever you like. However, one drawback
with this is that it is not possible to make changes to the story once you
decide to post it. Therefore, with the option of draft, you will be able to
edit your saved story before uploading it.
Looks like being able to save Instagram stories as drafts will
make the process of sharing stories later a lot easier.
