In recent years, it's become more important for major corporations to ensure that they're operating to be environmentally sustainable. According to data from the Carbon Majors Database, only 100 of the thousands of companies around the globe are responsible for 71% of the global greenhouse gas emissions dating back to 1998.
This infographic, from SolarPower.guide, takes a look at which of the major corporations are utilizing the highest amounts of solar power. Based on the data that was used for this infographic, it's Apple that has installed the most solar capacity at 398.3 megawatts. Also in the top three include Amazon in the second spot at 369.0 megawatts and Walmart in third at 331.0 megawatts. More companies are now going the solar energy route, because not only is it more environmentally sustainable, but it's smarter financially for these corporation. While there is an upfront cost associated with these commercial solar panels, they are renewable energy sources
