The Global Impact of Cement Industries on the Environment

There are numerous factors involved with various industries and their behavior with the environment. Today we will shed light upon one of the major industries called the Cement Industry and how its impact on the environment is increasing day by day. It is no news that a healthy environment and state of mind is a living being’s need to survive on this planet but what really happens if take away those needs? It is imperative to note that, all around us there is life. Sometimes in the form of minuscule insects and sometimes in the form of gigantic beasts.
Every country has a fair share of Cement industries in their territories which is why they are solely responsible for the changes these industries are capable of making to the environment. China is by far the richest country in Cement Industries and also the major source of carbon emission. In 2015, 4% of the Carbon emission belonged to the Cement industries caused by their special ingredient called Clinker. If we talk globally, 8% of the carbon emissions come from Cement Industries alone. From crushed rocks to rivers and coastlines, Construction companies and Cement Industries are consuming a significant lot of these foundation materials each day to produce cement and other products. It is highly likely that by the time we step into 2050, the water demand will shoot up to 75% in regions that are already running low on water.

To help prevent such a disastrous situation, a lot of cement alternative technologies have surfaced over time like BluePlanet, Carbon Cure, bioMASON, LafargeHolcim, Solidia Technologies, and Taiheiyo Cement. With these technologies, it is believed that the world might be able to protect its natural environment both water and land from the emissions of Carbon Dioxide.
