As per the giant video streaming company’s announcement, the third generation of Apple TVs that were first launched in 2012 will no longer be able to run YouTube. The changes will be applied on all the third-generation Apple TVs by March, and currently, all the third-gen users are receiving a warning message for the upcoming change. However, AirPlay for this gen will be available through which the users can stream their iOS devices (iPhone or iPad) and watch YouTube on their third-gen Apple TV. The two streaming boxes from apple, i.e., fourth-generation Apple TV HD and fifth-generation Apple TV 4K, are still compatible with YouTube.
Other streaming services like HBO also ended their support for older models of Apple TVs the previous year when they pulled off its HBO Now app from Apple TV’s second and third-generation models. Several other streaming service apps on which Apple TVs rely directly are also expected to discontinue their support from older generations.
