A new live-streaming feature in Instagram called multi-participant
IG Live video chats could arrive as soon as the next few weeks, as disclosed by
Instagram.
Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri, during his interview with Lily Singh, revealed that the company is working on a live groups feature. “We're releasing the ability to go live with more than one other person, so with up to four other people, in the next couple of weeks, which we're really excited about," he said.
The testing of this feature was first spotted back in December
when Instagram began testing it in India, a country where live-streaming receives
massive user attention. Statistics showed that Instagram Live views rose by
over 60% in India throughout 2020. Live-streaming, around the globe too, went
up in the past year, as more and more people looked for ways to stay connected during
the lockdowns.
Instagram’s multi-person streams feature has been in development
for quite a while now, for about more than a year to be exact. It looks like
the feature will be officially out any time soon.
With multi-person live streaming on Instagram, users are likely
to enjoy an even better broadcasting experience, while having the opportunity to
choose from a variety of options to connect with their audience, such as
exciting and fun interviews and invites.
