For the past few months, Google has been working on reducing the number of non-family-friendly ads and has now announced new changes in its policy for adult-oriented ads policy. The changes in Google’s policy will be noticed widely because of several reasons. The foremost one is; the adult-oriented creators who rely majorly on such bold ads will see a shift in their revenue.
The ad categories that Google has targeted include sexually suggestive live chat, live streaming, dating apps, role-playing games, and sexual themes and elements. There won’t be a restriction to create content on these categories, but there will be some limitations that the creators must follow.
All the adult-oriented ads will be re-categorized by the company in order to eliminate all the ads that are not family-friendly. Albeit, this new policy update from Google will affect various industries out there, especially the creators and firms that create adult content, which Google now terms as “sexually suggestive.” Such companies have to build direct contact with the brand rather than opting for Google AdSense. Moreover, this change can impact Google’s operating policy as well, but the search engine giant might not get bothered with the change as they did this all deliberately to ensure cleaner ads and a much family-friendly environment for its beloved users.
The company has announced to enforce the policy update on March 29th, 2021.
