Google just confirmed that it is testing dark mode for its desktop
search. The dark mode for Google Search has already rolled out to some users,
as the company continues to test it. For those who can see Google Search’s dark
mode, the background of the pages appears dark grey in color.
According to Google, it doesn’t have “anything specific to announce right now” regarding whether the new feature will be officially rolled out on a larger scale any time soon.
Although Google has confirmed the testing of dark mode only
now, the feature had been spotted by several users back in January as well.
Dark mode has lately been in the spotlight, as it has been
trending for other platforms as well, including Twitter that recently turned
its dark mode even darker and Microsoft that has been working on making all the
documents appear dark while the dark mode is enabled.
