The world has grown from 1 billion people in 1800 to 7.8 billion people today. While the population growth rate has declined in recent years, it is still increasing by more than 1% every year. Which areas of the world have the highest population density?
The following infographic from TitleMax visualizes the 25 cities around the world that have the highest population density. At the top of the list is Manila in the Philippines. With a population of more than 1.7 million people, the city’s population density is 119,600 per square mile. The next two cities are also located in the Philippines – Pateros with 94,400 people per square mile and Mandaluyong with 90,460 per square mile. Only two North American cities make the list. Port-au-Prince comes in at number 8 and Guttenberg, NJ at number 23. Shockingly, cities like New York and Los Angeles don’t make the list.
