This infographic looks at the total number of ghost sightings from each state in the United States, and also analyzes the data on where the highest frequencies of ghost sightings are per every 100,000 people. Based on all of this data, it's Texas that is considered to be the most haunted state in America, with 7,218 reported ghost sightings over the past 16 years.
Other top states include California (6,758), Ohio (2,844), Michigan (2,643), and Illinois (2,469). When you look at individual cities, the city that is considered to be the most haunted in America would be Austin, Texas, which has had 114 reported ghost sightings during this time. In fact, all three of the top cities are all in Texas: Austin (114), Corpus Christi (103), and Laredo (103).
