The year 2020 saw a staggering increase in the engagement rate of social sites, including Watch time and subscriptions. With various entertainment sites on the list, people have found new ways to stay connected to their friends and families amidst these isolated times. A report conducted by Twitch showed that the year 2020 saw an increase of 83% in the hours watched by the people. The watched hours refer to the hours in which users streamed several games on Twitch. The report conducted by the streaming site concluded that around 17 billion hours were watched in the year 2020, which is relatively a very small number compared to 9 billion hours in the year 2019.
According to the statistics report, Facebook is considered to be the record-breaking streaming site with the watched hours of 388 Million in December alone. In 2019, Facebook watched hours were 1.35 Billion, but by the time it entered the year 2020, its hours soared to 3.59 Billion, which is safely the biggest record owned by any of the streaming sites in just a year. Another great hit of 2020 was the streaming site called DLive, which observed an impressive increase in the watched hours as people switched to different areas of entertainment during the quarantine. This site bagged a total of 59 Million watched hours in the year 2020.
