Nintendo has announced the acquisition of 100% of the incredible shares of Next Level Games, a Vancouver-based game developer company. Next Level is already a close or second-part partner with Nintendo as it develops games specifically for Nintendo platforms. However, according to the company, acquiring Next Level Games will enhance collaboration and internal development resources.
Both companies have been working together for a long time. Their relationship stretches all the way back to 2005 when Super Mario Strikers, developed by Next Level Games for Nintendo's GameCube, was released.
Some other super hit video games developed by the Canadian developer for Nintendo platforms include Luigi's Mansion 3 for Switch, Punch-Out!! and Mario Strikers Charged for Wii, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for 3DS.
However, Nintendo has not disclosed the acquisition's financial details, but the company wants the deal to be made on 1st March 2021.
