Celeste, one of the most appreciated games of 2018 was originally developed by Maddy Thorson and Noel Berry and just got its sequel called Celeste 2: Lani’s Trek.

According to the team of the game’s developers, it took only three days to develop it. Moreover, the sequel has been released as a way of celebrating Celeste’s third anniversary.

Celeste was created for Pico-8, which is a platform that provides developers with a framework on which they can build games like it were actual hardware with defined technical capabilities – like a virtual console. The games created on Pico-8 are limited to 128 x 128 resolution and a specific 16-color palette, giving them a unique look. They can be accessed through the Pico-8 front end directly and can also be distributed separately.

Celeste 2 can be downloaded on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Raspberry Pi for free from Itch.io and can also be played directly in the browser.
