Nintendo and its historic journey

Nintendo has been the most successful leading brand in today’s world, and why should it not? From children to adults, every gamer wishes to buy high-end products, especially when gaming is in question, that too, at home. Currently, one Nintendo console sits in every other house, to say the least. If you are wondering how or why this brand has taken over the hearts of people and the market as well, it is because of its massive transitions over the years.

From Gameboy to Nintendo consoles

It is common knowledge that nothing great ever comes overnight. To achieve the best, one must work hard enough until he starts to see it everywhere. Such is the story of Nintendo and how it evolved initially after the concept of Game Boy came to the surface in the year 1989. The iteration hit 160 million units which encouraged the company to lay out better strategies to extend the product in the future. Later on, in the years 1996 and 1998, the company released Gameboy Pocket and Gameboy Color respectively, which definitely earned them a fortune. As Gameboy proceeded further, Nintendo launched its first-ever console in 1996, which immediately stirred an uproar in the audience.
As Nintendo managed to sell 32.93 million with its preliminary launch, people found themselves switching to this technology just about instantly. While more and more brands were making it to the industry with better features and even better market, old brands were bringing advanced modifications to their consoles to compete. In the years 2004 and 2006, Nintendo DS was released along with the Nintendo Wii respectively with advanced features like touch accessibility. The company sold 255 million consoles and claimed a whopping success that remained intact until 2012 and 2014. As history says, because of Nintendo Wii, these two years put the entire company in a difficult position, and the number of consoles went downhill in no time.

Nintendo Switch: The savior

To help the company get back on its feet, Nintendo Switch soared to save the day. In 2017, Nintendo Switch released a portable console that immediately captivated the attention of people, and the market experienced a massive shift. The units sold by Nintendo Switch in its first year were 17 million and considering the ultimate flexibility possessed by technology, the following years observed a great deal of success with even better strategies and environment. It is expected that the company will expand its perspective to work on areas that are favorable to the new generation.
