Google is all set to bring 3D picture effect for its users

The latest announcement by Google promises a brilliant 3D picture effect to your photos, that too, for free. On Tuesday of this week, the popular company declared in a blog that the new feature is manufactured in such a way that it will be able to turn a two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional image. The company also says that to enable this feature, the user will not have to go to unnecessary lengths, but instead, the Google Photos application will automatically do the magic on the 2D images present in your album and place them in the recent Highlights.
The blog also throws light on the little details provided by the company as to how the process will be carried out to perform such a task on 2D images. The 2D pictures will be studied to create a 3D version of its graphics with the help of machine learning. As highlighted in the blog by the Product Manager of Google Photos, Jamie Aspinall, "we use machine learning to predict an image's depth and produce a 3D representation of the scene—even if the original image doesn't include depth information from the camera. Then we animate a virtual camera for a smooth panning effect—just like out of the movies." It is safe to say that our photos will be in good hands.

Google is all set to give a "cinematic" look to your ordinary pictures. As implied by the name, these 3D pictures will take up the cinematic features to appear different from 2D pictures. The blog also hints at the possibility of the additional features to the application of Google Photos like Themes that could be applied to your Memories. With these features at our disposal, likely, the people won't even feel the need to look for other applications since Google is already doing it all for them.
