The world’s population is continuously increasing, which is being overlooked because of other consequences going around. The infographic reveals the countries with the largest population in the world. According to the infographic, India is expected to overtake China’s population by 2022. Currently, China makes 18.5% of the world’s total population (1.44 billion people), whereas India is the second-largest by population (17.7%), being home to around 1.3 billion people. The population of China and India combined makes around 36% of the total global population.
The US is the third-largest country with 331 million people and contributes 4.2% to the entire world’s population. Pakistan holds 5th rank on the list with a population of 220.8 million people, whereas Karachi, the biggest city of Pakistan, has 16 million people alone. Karachi is referred to as the most widely populous city in the country and also ranks as the 7th largest city in the world. Mexico settles at the bottom of the table as the 10th largest country in terms of population, with 128.9 million people.
The top 50 countries with the most population in the world make up 87% of the entire population of the world; on the other hand, the 50 least populous countries account for 0.4% of the total. According to the studies, in the next 30 years, around 1.5 billion people in the world will be aged 65+, which will make up to 16% of the total world’s population.
