TikTok has been reportedly working on some new features, including search filters and a mutual tab. The updates were noticed by Alessandro Paluzzi who shared details about them in his tweets.
According to the screenshot shared by Paluzzi, when a user opens up the Filters tab on TikTok, they can improvise their search by applying a number of filters, which include ‘All-time,’ ‘Previous day,’ ‘Past week,’ ‘Past month,’ ‘Past three months,’ and ‘Past six months.’. These filters would show posts based on the different time periods mentioned.
This update would be useful for users to help them find posts easily, instead of having to go through them one by one. The filters would narrow down the search and make it more relevant.
The mutual tab, on the other hand, will show users their mutual connections with other people. It is similar to how Facebook’s mutual friends feature works. Of course, the update would help maximize user engagement, let users connect with each other, help them discover like-minded people, and ultimately share content of mutual interests.

Both these TikTok features seem to reflect Facebook’s and Instagram’s interface, but nevertheless, TikTok users are likely to appreciate and make use of them whenever the features roll out.
