Dating as far back as 1987, Forbes Magazine has annually ranked the wealthiest people from across the world. As of March 2019, the richest person in the world is Jeff Bezos, worth $131 billion. Bezos founded Amazon, and today owns a 16% stake in the company which made him an estimated $230 billion in 2018 alone. To show how profitable the last five years have been for Bezos, he didn't even make the top ten list in 2015. Today, he's considered to be the wealthiest person alive.
