Joe Biden is the new US President, pretty much everyone knows
by now. He will be inaugurated on January 20, 2021. By the time he is
inaugurated, there will have been a lot of historic firsts recorded. First of
all, Kamala Harris will be elected as the first female vice president and
second in-command in the US. Joe Biden will also turn 78 years old on November
20, 2020, which means that he will be the oldest person to be elected as the US
President.
Theodore Roosevelt was the youngest President in the history
of the US, at only 42 years. He took the charge of the office after the William
McKinley incident which means, he was not particularly elected as such. The youngest
elected president was John F. Kennedy at 43 years of age. Currently, Donald
Trump is the oldest president in the history of the US as he was sworn in at 70
years of age. However, this record is being broken by Joe Biden next year. The average
age of presidents at the time of inauguration is 55.
Joe Biden’s age has been in talks and debated by many. With his
age and health on a constant radar, he addressed it last year and said that
with age comes wisdom and knowledge and hopefully he can make things better for
America. His health has been in cognitive decline as of late, which may result
in Kamala Harris taking control of the office, prematurely.
