The latest WhatsApp update has taken the entire world by storm and why shouldn't it? The company has launched an update that would delete messages that are 7 days older, keeping the media and saved messages intact. While this news might sound like a huge game-changer for the better performance of the application, the users are still trying to make peace with the fact that their old conversations will no longer be kept safe.
WhatsApp is one of the most popular and common messaging applications among people belonging to all generations. It has always provided users with the most convenient and easy solutions. A while ago, the company broke out the news about the self-deletion of messages and briefly explained how things inside this application would work for the user.
To make this feature work, the user will first have to enable it through a button. After that, the feature will use its algorithms to distinguish the messages from 7 days before and mark them to be deleted instantly. Every other day, the WhatsApp engine will run its course, and the messages older than 7 days will automatically be deleted from the user's WhatsApp. In case the user forwards a message to another contact, and the message turns older than 7 days, the message will not be affected by it in any way and will most certainly not be deleted either.
