Teaching and education
has taken a toll in 2020 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The sudden
shift to online classes has seen a lot of struggle from both ends – student’s
and the teachers. Usually the classes are up to 3 hours where teacher spends time
in the classroom this rounds up to 723 hours per year of teachers spending
their times in classrooms.
A new research posed
some insights in the education systems on all organization’s member states. The
more prominent aspect of the research was the amount of time teachers spent in
the classrooms. The aforementioned hours vary from country to country but you
get the general idea. The research shed some light on the actual time teachers
spent in the classrooms.
There is no set rule
that distributes the total time of teaching of the teachers. Generally, they
spend around three to six hours per day in the classroom. The schools in Europe
have different teaching times. For example, Dutch schools’ teachers have to
teach around 790 hours per year whereas Polish teachers teach 220 hours less
than the average time.
Following is an
infographic that shows different schools in Europe that have their teachers
spend the most time in the classroom for teaching.
