According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 42.4% of the American population is obese. That’s a startling statistic considering that just 13% of adults in the entire world are obese. Which American cities have the most obese residents?
The following infographic from the True People Search Insights team crunched the numbers on cities with the highest percentage of obese adults and the highest percentage of physically inactive adults to determine the most overweight and fittest cities in America.
According to the research, Gary, IN is the most overweight city in America. 50% of adults in Gary are categorized as obese, and 42.8% are physically inactive. On the other end of the spectrum, Boulder, CO was ranked as the fittest city in America. Just 15.4% of Boulder residents are obese and only 12.2% said they were physically inactive.
