California is a beautiful and important state of the US. With
the recent tragedies that has fallen onto it, is nothing less than
heartbreaking. It is plagued by heatwaves which is the reason spontaneous wildfires
erupt out of nowhere. This is a direct consequence of climate change.
There are a lot of safety precautions and measures in place
to minimize the damage done to the state due to global warming. There are
effective systems in place as to make sure everything is monitored. The authorities
of California have announced to immediately halt the sales of vehicles that
have a built-in internal combustion engine. This measure is said to improve the
emission of toxic materials and a step to move to 100 percent emission-free
vehicles.
There have been many emission-free vehicles running around California.
The electric hybrid cars such as Tesla is the epitome of emission-free vehicles.
According to the state governor’s tweet, transportation and its toxic emissions
are responsible for more than 50 percent of California’s greenhouse gas
emissions. They are also responsible for 80 percent of the smog and 95 percent
of toxic diesel emissions. He further added that they are willing to market and
promote the zero-emission vehicle innovation and drive down costs for everyone.
Despite the steps taken to take down the toxin emitting
vehicles, California has made into one of the world’s largest car markets. This
is huge for California because there is a chance of opening up many
opportunities for other states in the US in this grand scheme of things. California
is the biggest and the most important car market in the United States.
With new registrations of about 1.89 million light vehicles,
California is now ranking 10th compared to all the other countries
in the world. The big countries such as Italy, France and the UK are just a few
nicks above California.
