Copying pictures relevant to your content or of your interest from the internet are extremely easy, but, do you know what consequences copying someone’s content can lead you to? Facebook will soon roll out a new feature of Rights Manager Tool that allows the creators to control their content rights and protect it from stealing.
The tech giant has started to work with a set of trusted partners that will give users the power to claim the copyrights of their stolen content. Facebook has not revealed who its partners; hence only theoretical statements are made. Pictures and videos are not only copied on Facebook but on Instagram as well, the company will let the users claim their copied content on Instagram.
Wondering how one can claim their copyright? Well, all you need to do is upload the CSV file containing the copied images’ metadata on Facebook Rights Manager. The manager will verify the details and if the copyright is found to be right, decisions like blocking the content, demand a credit link, etc. will be made.
The update is mostly for those who manage accounts on a daily basis and upload originally created content that is used/misused by other accounts under their names. Facebook is working to make the update available for every single user so that the risk of getting the content stolen dies out peacefully.
