As per Facebook’s analysis, more than 200 million videos are sent on Messenger every day, whereas 150 million video calls are made. The Watch Together feature will help you share the videos with your friends while being on a video call and watch together to see the real-time expressions.
Distances can create a sense of loneliness among people; hence, Facebook came up with the idea of Watch Together in order to help its users with an amazing experience that makes them feel as if they are together with their loved ones. Any type of video including, sports highlights, news highlights, a movie, a meme, trending videos, etc. can be watched together with your friends.
Apart from these, this new update will also be extremely great for online trainers, chefs, artists, or DJ that can be shared and enjoyed together while being at your home. Facebook partnered with a very renowned celebrity who is a fitness geek and trainer, Melissa Alcantara. She has been asked to make a series of workout videos that can help the people to exercise from their homes. Watch Together feature will connect a group of friends together who will keep on encouraging each other to work out and stay fit.
To use the feature, all you need to do is start a video call on Messenger or create a Messenger room, then access the menu by swiping up and tap on the Watch Together option. There you will have a vast list of videos to choose and share with your friends. There is also a search bar where you can type in a keyword, and all the relevant videos will be listed. A maximum of eight people can watch the video together of Messenger video call; however, in Messenger room, fifty people at a time can experience it.
Facebook will roll out the Watch Together feature soon this week on both, i.e., iOS and Android smartphones.
