Users from the UK and USA reported that the big tech video conferencing app Zoom is down in their regions, and they are having trouble joining the meetings. DownDetector indicates the outages spread in North America and various parts of Europe. However, Zoom’s page reported that users have facing issues with meetings and webinars. Whereas phone, chat, and auxiliary services are working perfectly fine. But, if the app’s main features are down, other services do not mean a lot.
Since the pandemic has resulted in shifting more and more people to video conferences and Zoom has been the leading application to serve the purpose, its outage could damage the user activity.
Many people have been seen posting complaint tweets on Twitter as Zoom outage disrupts their business meetings and online classes. No other day could be worst for a tech giant like Zoom to go down as a new week has just started, and people are facing troubles with their work and studies. While on the other hand, many people are happy about the outage and call themselves “free” as they were not ready to start their week.
Zoom tweeted that they have been working on the issue and will update the users through its social media accounts as soon as the service is restored.
