The Fortune 500 by Fortune magazine in the United States of America, is a list of those American companies that are in the top 500 in terms of their revenue. On the top, two are Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac companies respectively. The amount which they make per employee is rather astonishing, for both make 1.9 million dollars and 1 million dollars profit respectively. Both companies are sponsored by the U.S. government and they are also associated with mortgages in the United States.
Not only this, but profits also vary according to the sectors in which the companies' employees work. The top sector per employee is financials, in which the 116,000 dollars profit is generated. Due to this very reason, we can notice that 8 out of all the 20 companies belong to the financial sector. At second place is the food and drugs sector, whereas in third place is the energy sector.
Until now, the assumption has been that business giants have been completely safe from the economic and financial atrocities of the global pandemic. All these most and least profitable companies are a part of the Fortune 500. However, that's far away from the truth and huge businesses have also suffered to some extent, with a few changes here and there in their revenue and profit figures.
