The Emmy Awards are to the television industry what the Oscars are to the Film Industry. Big names in the television industry anticipate these awards every year. Having considered its popularity and massive growth, Netflix ranked number one in 2020.
The first time Netflix was nominated for the Emmys was back in 2013. At that time, it had received only 14 nods but it has gradually paved its way to success, earning a whopping 160 nominations.
On second stood HBO, which is 2019, broke the records by achieving 137 nominations. In the last five years, however, 2020 was the year in which it got the lowest nominations, merely 107. But that couldn't stop it from getting at least the second rank from the folks at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
