COVID-19 has bought misery to the lives of people but it has
changed the online consumer spending habits quite drastically. Since the
businesses have shifted towards the online platforms, the Ecommerce industry
has bloomed because of it. This means that the delivery services such as UPS
and FedEx have benefitted from it as well.
In May, about $82.5 billion in online sales were spent in the
US alone, which is nearly over a 78% increase from last year. Since March, when
the lockdown was imposed globally, the online sales boosted substantially and
exceeded the expected spending on online platforms.
During this time, the delivery services have also been quite
busy with the on-time delivery and accuracy percentage of up to 95-98 percent. The
stats were pretty similar to last year in comparison.
