Amazon is rebranding its service Twitch Prime which will now be called Prime Gaming. The company is apparently focusing on the 'Prime' part of the brand and dropping the 'Twitch'. Although the name of the service is changing, the benefits that it provides to the subscribers remain the same, such as exclusive in-game content, free games, and a free monthly Twitch subscription.
The new name of the service, Prime Gaming, has made it sound more like the other digital content services' names by Amazon like Prime Video and Prime Reading.
By altering the name of the service, Amazon is proving its continued commitment to gaming. Other than Prime Gaming, the company also owns Amazon Games, which is its game development arm.
Amazon's first major title, Crucible, was launched in May and a few other titles including New World and a version of Pac-Man were going to be launched soon but haven't been made available as of yet.
It has also been reported that Amazon might get involved in cloud gaming in the near future and launch its own cloud gaming service, the codename of which is rumored to be Project Tempo.
