Every application keeps on launching new updates to help the users get a better experience. Recently, Twitter has also launched a new update of direct messages but for desktop users. With this new update, users will be able to chat without having to leave the main tweet page.

It is pretty similar to Facebook and LinkedIn’s desktop chat feature, which is very convenient for the users as they are not redirected to a new page but get a cat box popped up whenever someone sends in a new message. However, this chatbox can be minimized.
Many users might find this new update a bit annoying due to the expansion of the mini screen on your timeline. But, can you switch it off? The answer is No, you can minimize the chatbox but cannot switch it off.
