Crossing the 1 trillion dollar mark in 2019, Microsoft has positioned itself as one of the world's biggest technology companies. The origins of Microsoft date back to 1975, when it was started in a garage in Albuquerque, Mexico. Over the last few decades, Microsoft has not only produced operating systems but it has also licensed various products in the world of computing.
Initially, Microsoft Windows was designed to be used on IBM computers but it eventually evolved and spread all across the globe. Today, the newest version we have is Windows 10 but if you have grown up from the 80s and 90s, you will very much remember the popularity of Windows 95, Windows 97 and XP. It was Microsoft's user-friendly interface and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously that helped it thrive and gain popularity since the release of Windows 1.0.
