Broken down into the three separate attacks, it shows the number of civilians and first responders that were killed at the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon, and on the four pair planes that were hijacked. The first responders are further broken down by their ranks, sadly 343 members of the FDNY, 72 law enforcement officers, and 8 members of EMS lost their lives courageously saving others after the attack. In addition to the 2,977 victims, the 19 terrorists that hijacked the four planes are also included in the breakdown of fatalities for a total of 2,996 fatalities from that day.
