Microsoft’s
Launcher App for Android has been updated to version 6. The update has
significantly improved the performance, hence faster loading and reduced
battery drainage.
The additions in
the update includes a new icon for the app, dark mode, a daily wallpaper
feature, personalized newsfeed, customizable icons, and landscape orientation.
Another noticeable addition in the Launcher app is the dual-screen Surface Duo
thanks to the landscape mode. This new feature makes the app look even better visually.
Google Chrome, on
the other hand, recently removed its dark mode feature, probably after learning
that the feature was affecting the browsing experience. This was bad news for
users who were getting used to the dark mode and reduced strain on the eyes. But
the good news is that dark mode can now be used in Microsoft Edge.
In order to turn
on the forced dark mode in Edge, users can enter edge://flags/#enable-force-dark in
the address bar. This will lead to the drop-down menu where one can change the
setting from “Default” to “Enabled” and restart the browser. Upon turning this
mode on, websites that have a light background will have their color scheme
altered to darker tones.
A little
experimenting with the various options can help users decide what works best
for them in relation to the websites that they use more often.
