WhatsApp has said that it has started this new feature with Brazil and will eventually make it available to all its users as it moves forward with it. WhatsApp added that this new option will allow the messaging app to welcome more partners in the upcoming days.
Users will not have to pay any charges to use the option, however, they will have to pay a certain amount to receive their payments. You will need to connect your credit or debit card to your WhatsApp account and your transactions will be protected by your fingerprint or a six-digit PIN. For Brazil, the company has specified that it will support debit and credit cards from Banco do Brasil, Nubank, and Sicredi.
WhatsApp has been working on this feature for long and rolled out the beta version in India back in 2018. Due to this, many people were expecting that India would be the first country to receive this new feature but regulatory issues faced by its parent-company Facebook in India could be a reason why it did not happen.
