I don’t know if you know, but the internet we know and use
every day is just the tip of the iceberg of what the internet actually is. The
other 99% is hidden deep under the sea of hard codes and encryption. The
internet that stores such huge amounts of data that our brains cannot even
comprehend. That internet is called the Deep Web.
The deep web is actually 500 times larger than the internet
we use in our regular lives. It is so hidden from the public eye because all
the encrypted data such as passwords, bank account numbers, transactions, and
all the other important stuff are carried through it.
The deep web makes our personal information hidden to the
public networks so that it cannot be misused. There is a counterpart of the
Deep web, called the Dark Web. It is commonly known as the scariest place of
the internet because it is an encrypted communication channel between
murderers, thieves, and drug dealers. There are a lot of foul activities that
are done on the Dark web. That’s why it is not one of the most fun places to be
around.
However, everyone has a curiosity button and some of you
would like to dive into that deep ocean of the internet but might not have the right gear to go under. Fear not, the only scuba gear that you need to go under
the surface is a browser called TOR (The Onion Router), and within seconds you
will be swimming in the Deep web, uncovering what the internet is really all
about.
Here is a chart that will give you all the details about
TOR, including its installation and how it can be used to surf the Deep web.
