Twitter's Instagram-style Stories Fleet has been in the talks lately, and now the social media giant has made it available for its users in India. It was first launched in Brazil followed by Italy in May.
Twitter's managing director for India Manish Maheshwari has said that India is one of the fastest-growing audience markets for Twitter and the company is excited to make it one of the first three countries to receive the new feature.
Maheshwari also added that this way, Twitter will be able to learn how this new feature will change the way Indian users engage on the platform.
"It’ll also be interesting to see if it further amplifies the diversity of usage by allowing people to share what they’re thinking in a way that is light-touch and light-hearted,” he added.
It has not been revealed when fleets will be launched worldwide. Stories have been a popular feature among the most popular social media platforms including WhatsApp, YouTube, and even Skype. Facebook had also revealed in a report that Stories on Instagram perform better than the posts on the traditional News Feed. Twitter, however, been slow to introduce it for its users.
We can expect that it won't be long before all Twitter users get this new feature and it'll be exciting to see how users respond to it.
