Creative activities have taken people by storm during these times of excessive lockdown. With no choice but to stay at home, people have engaged in a lot of productive activities. Some of these are at a personal level, such as reading, writing, arts and crafts which include painting, knitting, crocheting etc.
Offices have also changed the system of their employees working. The work-from-home system has blessed people with a lot of free time on their hands. This has resulted in profits for hardware stores, gardening and many other DIY shops. Mostly, a trend has been witnessed regarding updating home and living. Some traditional jobs, such as painting the walls, are being taken up by family members themselves.

These home improvement businesses are being very careful when delivering products to their customers' homes. Most of these DIY projects had long been ignored by people due to lack of time. So this is the one positive impact that the lockdown following COVID-19 has had. However, we have to remember that these activities were either pre-planned and if not pre-planned, then they are being taken up by people who haven't faced financial issues due to the global pandemic.
If you are also considering a DIY project, here are a few tips to remember:
- Compare prices and quotes before you actually place an order for the tools and equipment. Also consult an advisor if the project you are considering is big and you have little to no experience in it.
- Health is above everything else. If you think your safety might be at risk due to some project, then postpone it.
- Follow safety precautions and measures while doing your DIY project. Don't forget to maintain a six feet distance from your loved ones, wear masks, gloves and use sanitisers and washing hands.
