As a preventive measure of COVID-19, most businesses around
the world are forced to remain closed for a couple of months. However, a new
survey by Ipsos
suggests that Americans are eager to get back to work – despite the looming threat of coronavirus.
According to the reports, 53% of US adults strongly agree to
reopen up their business, despite the fact that coronavirus is not fully
contained. On the contrary, 43% say that opening businesses with the virus may
not be suitable.
The survey also shows a slight conflict amongst Americans
regarding the economy. While 45% of Americans believe that the economy will
rise back up rapidly, 50% say it will take time.
Partisanship also remains to be a determiner of people’s
views regarding businesses reopening and the economy. When surveyed by Ipsos,
Republicans had higher levels of customer confidence when compared to the
Democrats.
