Instagram is working on a few new ways to navigate through Stories so you can find more Stories they wish to see.
Jane Munchun Wong, a reverse engineering expert tweeted about the test, which would allow users to slide the stories frame downwards to view the stories bar at the top of the screen, then pick one they are interested in viewing.
Wong also tweeted that Instagram has also tested s similar variation before which led to Insta's chief Adam Mosseri to confirm that they are actually testing new options so people can navigate through Stories more easily.Instagram is working on a quick switch to other user’s Stories pic.twitter.com/rq2KBlmO4o— Jane Manchun Wong (@wongmjane) May 7, 2020
This would change the whole look of the Stories feature and could make them easier to skim through. But it is also interesting to note that this could be a tradition to another phase of the news feed.
Facebook has said that Stories will surpass News Deed and become the center of social media engagement. But even though Stories are widely used, News Feed remains dominant in Facebook apps, with the main feed taking up most of the screen on both Insta and Facebook.
Maybe Instagram will switch to full-screen Stories view but if this happens, it will have a major effect on how people use the app.
For now, it might appear to be a small update but it could become more significant in the upcoming days.
