As the name implies, employer branding is a term used to
define the company’s reputation and popularity from a potential employee’s
point of view.
In this regard, Universum
conducted a survey of over 2,000 HR professionals and CEO’s around the globe
and took their insight on the importance of employer branding along with the trends
that would be the most apparent in the next five years.
According to the response, the importance of employer
branding will grow in the coming years. Additionally, the respondents said that
emphasis on long-term thinking should be made while taking branding on a global
scale will also be required.
In today’s digital era, the importance of social media is
never underestimated. However, when it comes to employer branding, social channels
become more vital. In fact, the participants of the survey said that social
media would be the most preferred channel for branding with websites falling in second place.
The need for more collaboration between the HR personals and
the CEO over employer branding was also requested by the participants.
Simply put, we live in a competitive world, where a company’s
reputation matters! The majority of candidates also do thorough research of a company
and say that they would not work for a company that has a bad reputation with
former employees and the general public.
