Traveling is the favorite hobby of everyone regardless of
their age. We believe that the young generation travels the most, but reality
turns out to be different. The highest rate of travelers in the US was of the
baby boomers. People who were born between 1946-1964 are usually known as 'Baby
Boomers'. The reason for them being traveling lovers is that they have
gathered enough cash to spend on themselves. Moreover, they don't have any rush
and stress of daily work; hence, they can travel whenever they like, wherever
they want.
Reasons
baby boomers travel
Boomers are free to choose their travel destination. However,
there are several reasons for which they travel such as,
- They want to take a break from their daily life and spend some quality time with their significant other in a calm place
- To enjoy summer vacations in a beautiful city
- To meet their family or friends who live miles away in different countries
- To celebrate/attend an event
- To have a perfect vacation with their loved ones in a different environment
Travel
spots where boomers go
Baby boomers take both domestic and international trips. The
choice is all up to them depending on their reason for traveling. Domestic
destinations could be anywhere within their beloved country whereas, international
spots are usually, Italy, UK, France, Mexico, etc.
Where do
they like to stay?
Most of the boomers are not well aware of the procedures of
booking resorts or guest houses. Thus, they prefer staying at hotels. Only
those who are traveling to visit their families prefer to stay with their
families in their homes.
Travel marketers usually target young travelers and outlook
baby boomers. Little do they know, boomers are the ones who travel the most.
Travel companies should assist boomers well by offering packages to them that
cater to their needs well. In this way, great success can be achieved to the
travel firms by this remunerative cohort.
