Instagram users rejoice!
Instagram has officially announced that it will allow users to save all their live broadcasts to IGTV and keep them visible for as long as they wish.
Although Instagram has been adding this new option over a few weeks to many accounts, it hadn't made an official announcement. Up till now, Insta Live videos were only available until the broadcast ended via a 'Live' marker at the top of the feed along with Stories. While users were able to save the video to their phones and upload them later but now they can directly add it to IGTV, where they will stay on for longer or until the user wants.Want to save your Live videos to IGTV? This new option will allow users to build their IGTV library and since Insta has recently added monetization options for the app, it could tap into the growing engagement in IGTV and might also open up a new revenue option for users through their content.
But there are some restrictions that you must know about. According to Instagram, Live video replays won't include any likes or comments form the broadcast nor the number of viewers from the Live broadcast video will be included in the IGTV video. Moreover, you can not edit or shorten the live video before adding it to IGTV.
If you're in search of a simple and quick way to maximize your content viewership, this new option is worth using.
