The COVID-19 pandemic has spread almost all over the world. But
surprisingly, there are a few places on earth that have remained unaffected –
up till now from the coronavirus.
The following infographic indicates the countries that have not
reported any cases of the COVID-19. These countries include North Korea, Tajikistan,
South Sudan, Malawi, Yemen, Burundi, and Lesotho.
However, there are critical exclamations regarding the
actual situation in some of these countries. Specifically, North Korea is under the radar for being secretive after South Korea made claims that COVID-19 has indeed
spread to the region through the Chinese border. North Korea is renowned for
its state control over media and this may be the reason why word regarding
coronavirus in the region has not yet reached the global publication.
Several countries in Africa including Botswana, Burundi, the
Comoros, Malawi, Sao Tome, and Principe, Sierra Leone and South Sudan are also
saying that they have no cases of coronavirus. However, the lack of testing facilities
in the country can potentially be the reason for undiagnosed cases.
Myanmar, also known as Burma had managed to remain free from
the virus up till now. But the country with the most un-developed health care
system reported its first case last week. The virus has also not managed to reach
the nations located on the Pacific Island such as the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
Meanwhile, more than 49,000 deaths have been reported as a result
of coronavirus globally with over 962,000 registered diagnoses.
