Snapchat has recently announced that it will be introducing a feed dedicated to coronavirus news to keep users informed with the latest updates about the pandemic.
From what's known, the new panel will feature updates from selected news sources and will also give information from health organizations including the World Health Organization and the U.K.'s National Health Service. It will also be highlighting official messages from White House's coronavirus task force along with government announcements.
That's not all, Snapchat has also launched its channel called "Coronavirus: Slow the Spread", which is dedicated to COVID-19 information. The channel will also feature stories from Snap users and being to light how they are living in quarantine and coping with lockdowns.
The platform will also introduce a new AR game which focuses on busting common myths and misinformation about COVID-19. Last week, Snapchat also introduced a 'Here for You' mental health center to give assistance and support to users amid the coronavirus panic and fear.
Snapchat is home to many young users and it is important that the platform does its part in keeping them informed about COVID-19. Although, it has been observed that there have been fewer young victims but this does not mean that they are immune and must play their role in keeping themselves and their loved ones safe from the virus.
