A governmental study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that 4 out of
every 10 American adults are suffering from obesity while 1 out of every 10 is
severely obese.
The 2017-1018 survey by the CDC analyzed the height and
weight of over 5,000 American adults and found that obesity rates in the
country are increasing day by day. The survey recorded 42% of U.S. residents to
fall within the obesity threshold while over 9% were noted to be severely
obese. According to the survey, the number of obese individuals increased by 2%
and severely obese by 8% from the recorded numbers of 2015-2016.
Rising rates of obesity in the USA are becoming a prevalent
problem for both – adults and children. In fact, the 2015 – 2016 survey by the
CDC revealed an 18.5% rate of obesity for children and teen in the USA and a 6%
severely obese rate.
