Traffic congestion is something many of us struggle with every
day. But did you know that the commuters of Bengaluru, India, and Manila, Philippines
faced the worst traffic jams in the year 2019? In fact, travelers of both urban cities can expect to spend around 71% extra travel time in traffic alone.
TomTom
recently released their annual traffic index for the year 2019 where they
analyzed the traffic congestion levels in 416 cities in 57 countries. According
to their report, Colombian capital of Bogota comes on the third position with
68% traffic congestion while Mumbai and Pune - the metropolitan cities of India
follow close behind.
Interestingly, India can be termed as the country with the most
traffic congestion as four of its major cities including New Delhi make the
TomTom list.
The city of Los Angeles is the most congested city in the United States. However, the levels of traffic jam in ‘the city of Angels’ are
far lesser than the cities mentioned in this infographic at 42%.
